Human Stories ("the app") is built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what that means.
We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your data. Human Stories has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no network connection of any kind. Everything you create in the app — projects, photos, notes, observations, and story drafts — stays on your device.
Your photo library. When you choose to add a photo to a project, the app uses Apple's standard photo picker to let you select images from your library. The app only receives the specific photos you choose to add — it does not have general access to your photo library, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Text you write. Observations, next-shot plans, project descriptions, and story drafts are typed directly into the app and stored only in the app's local database on your device.
All content you create is stored locally in the app's private storage area on your device, managed by Apple's SwiftData framework. If you delete the app, all of its data is deleted with it. If you delete a project, photo, observation, or next shot inside the app, it is removed immediately and permanently from your device.
Because your data never leaves your device, we have no ability to access, recover, or delete it on your behalf — only you can do that, by using the app or by deleting it.
Human Stories does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all. The app is not directed at children and contains no features (accounts, messaging, purchases, etc.) that would require special handling for children's data.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional feature that involves data leaving the device — we will update this page and the "Effective date" above before that feature ships.
